Shiplogic app – Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains what data the Shiplogic application ("the App") collects, why it is collected, and how it is used. The App is a work tool used by delivery drivers and depot staff to manage shipments, collections, and proof of delivery on behalf of their courier provider.


The App is published for iOS (com.shiplogic.driver) and Android (com.shiplogic.app). All data is transmitted to and stored on the Shiplogic platform (api.shiplogic.com) on behalf of the courier provider that employs or contracts the driver.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Account and identity information

When you sign in, the App stores and transmits the credentials and profile details associated with your driver account, including:

  • Username
  • Email address
  • Full name
  • Phone number
  • Profile picture (if you choose to upload one)
  • Branch, provider, and account identifiers
  • Authentication token (used to keep you signed in)

1.2 Location information

The App collects precise GPS location (latitude, longitude, speed, accuracy, and timestamp) to support delivery tracking and tracking-event capture.

  • Foreground location is attached to certain API requests so that tracking events (e.g. collections and deliveries) can be geo-stamped.
  • Background location is collected while you are on duty — that is, after you begin updating shipments — so that delivery progress can be tracked even when the App is not open. Background tracking automatically stops when your duty shift ends.
  • Location points are filtered to reduce data collection (e.g. stationary or low-accuracy points are skipped) and are queued and sent in batches to the Shiplogic platform.

You can disable location collection at any time through your device settings, though doing so will limit the App's tracking functionality.

1.3 Camera and barcode data

The App uses your device camera to:

  • Scan parcel barcodes / waybill numbers to identify shipments.
  • Capture proof of delivery photographs when delivering a parcel.

1.4 Photo library

With your permission, the App can select images from your device's photo library to attach as proof of delivery.

1.5 Proof of delivery information

When completing a delivery or collection, the App captures and transmits:

  • Recipient name
  • Recipient mobile number
  • Recipient signature
  • Proof of delivery photographs

1.6 Push notification tokens

The App registers a device push token with Firebase Cloud Messaging so that the Shiplogic platform can notify you of new or updated shipments and collections. The token is associated with your driver account and device platform (iOS/Android).

1.7 Bluetooth

The App uses Bluetooth to connect to Bob Box lockers when a delivery or collection involves one. Bluetooth is only used to communicate with nearby locker hardware and is not used to track you.

1.8 Diagnostics and crash reporting

The App uses Sentry to capture crash reports and error diagnostics. This helps us identify and fix problems. Diagnostic data may include device and app state at the time of an error. An optional in-app debugging feature can store log files in device storage for support purposes.

1.9 Device and app information

To operate the service, the App transmits technical information such as the app version and device platform with its requests.

2. How we use your information

We use the information collected by the App to:

  • Authenticate you and keep you signed in.
  • Show you the shipments and collections assigned to you.
  • Record and geo-stamp tracking events (collections, deliveries, exceptions).
  • Track delivery progress and provide live tracking to recipients and the courier provider.
  • Capture and store proof of delivery (signatures, photos, recipient details).
  • Send you push notifications about your assigned work.
  • Connect to locker hardware where applicable.
  • Diagnose crashes and improve the reliability of the App.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. How your information is shared

Data collected by the App is shared with:

  • The courier provider that employs or contracts you, who is the controller of the operational data captured in the App.
  • Recipients and senders of shipments, who may receive delivery tracking information and proof of delivery as part of the courier service.
  • Service providers that help us operate the App, including Firebase (push notifications), Sentry (crash reporting), and Google Maps (navigation and mapping).

5. Data retention

Operational data (shipments, tracking events, location points, and proof of delivery) is retained by the Shiplogic platform on behalf of the courier provider for as long as required to provide the courier service and to comply with the provider's legal and operational obligations.

Location data is queued locally on your device only until it can be transmitted, after which the local copy is removed.

6. Your rights

Because the courier provider is the controller of the operational data captured through the App, requests to access, correct, or delete your personal information should be directed to your courier provider. We will assist providers in fulfilling such requests where required by applicable law.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS) between the App and the Shiplogic platform and secure storage of authentication credentials on your device.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
